Every Southerner knows the drill. The sky turns that funny green-gold color, your phone starts hollerin' about a tornado warning, and while everybody else is headed for the storm cellar, you're stepping out onto the porch with a glass of tea to see what the sky's fixin' to do.

You don't need radar. You've got a screen door, a pair of eyes, and three generations of weather intuition passed down from people who called it "that air feels funny" before Doppler was even a thing. You can read a cloud like other folks read a stop sign. And you can tell anybody who'll listen with a certainty the National Weather Service would envy that "nah, it ain't gonna hit us."
